About Us

Run by Victoria and her fabulous team, Nora’s opened its doors in May 2010 and was born from a desire to bring something fresh to a high street that seemed focused on product profit rather than product passion. We pride ourselves on only selecting things that are useful, beautiful and (most importantly) well made. We're not interested in 'conventional' 'mass produced' or 'run of the mill' and we would never sell anything we wouldn't choose to have in our own homes.

We believe shopping should be an experience; a way of awakening the senses with delicious smells, bright colours and delightfully tactile objects that cry out to be touched. Choosing a special gift for a loved one or taking your time to find the perfect cushion for your favourite chair are just a few of life's small pleasures and we want to make sure it stays that way. Want to browse for an hour? Go for it! Just calling in for a chat? We're here with a listening ear! Oh and free gift wrapping? You've got it!

Our focus is (and always will be) on supporting and promoting British designer makers; Over 90% of our items are made (often by hand) by the lovely talented people of this fair isle we call home. Want to know a bit more about that amazing tea towel you've just spotted? Just ask us! Chances are we'll be able to tell you everything about the person who made it (right down to their favourite biscuit...)

In April 2019, we relocated the shop from our original home in The Victorian Arcade to a wonderful space on The Grove.
